"I made $20,000 my first month!"

I've heard it all.

And I've had enough. 

When I first joined network marketing, I honestly thought that I could make $100,000 per month within my first two years.  That's whateveryone was telling me.  They showed me people who had done it. One was a truck driver and the other was a high school coach. 

If they could do it, I knew I could do it.

There was only one problem.

I had no money, no contacts, and no time.

I was 28 and my first business had failed miserably.  I went $75,000 in debt. I had ZERO credibility with the people who watched me fail.I was paying rent by selling my furniture. I needed money NOW.

But they said I could do it.  And they kept showing me all these people who made six-figures in less than 6 months in network marketing.

Even now, I realize they weren't lying. Those people did make a lot of money in a very short period of time. But they weren't telling methe entire truth, either. 

Let me explain.

My friend called me today and told me he made $60,000 in one day!

HOLY COW!  I had to know what his secret was. I know this guyreally well.  He would never lie to me.  And if this guy can make $60,000 inone day, I could do it too.  I was so excited I wasn't really ready for his answer.

He sold his house.

Made $60,000.  Put the cash in his bank account.  Felt like Superman.  Wanted to impress me.  A little hype and he looks good for a little while. 

Of course he was joking with me. It took a lot more than a day to make his $60,000.  But he had me VERY interested... for a moment.

I thought, "good metaphor for network marketers"

You know those people who tell you they made $20,000 per month, their third month in the business?  That's like my friend saying he made $60,000 in one day. They didn't do it in 3 months.  They've been innetwork marketing for years.  They may have just joined their current company 3 months ago, but it's taken them years to develop the relationships and skills to make that kind of money, that fast.

They don't tell you that.

They also don't tell you that this is the 5th time they've done it in three years.  Know why they keep doing it over and over?

They build their business on hype.  People eventually figure that out.  When they do, they quit and look for something else. Sometimes these people find another hypster, sometimes they find a real company with a real upline giving them real expectations.

Here's what's real.

If you are new to this business, it's going to take you a year to "figure it all out".  Then it's going to take you three to five years of all out hard work to build a six-figure passive income.  Some will do it in less time, some will do it in more time.  Most of you won't stick it out long enough.  That's how the truth looks from up here. 

Some people think older companies like Amway and Herbalife just don't have any opportunity left. That's wrong. They just don't have any hype left.

I've met people who joined Amway seven years ago, who now enjoy  six-figure incomes. I'm not promoting Amway or any networkmarketingcompany in particular. You can do this with just about any company. Just make sure they are built on reality, not hype.

I met a guy once who told me he was making over $300,000 permonth in network marketing. But you know what?  I was recruiting him into MY business. He wasn't making anything with that company any more. They went out of business, mostly because they were built on hype.  He had been in the industry for 25 years. And instead of enjoying alasting residual income, he was out looking for another opportunity to help pay his bills.  And he was still hyping me!  Even though he had nothing to show for it.

I got an email about a woman who said she recruited 60 people into network marketing in her first month by using the internet. She hadnever done network marketing before. She had never even had her own business. She was a secretary. WOW!  What I found out later is thatshe was a secretary for a company that had a large online database. Her husband owned the company. He let her use it to recruit. Andthose 60 people didn't recruit very well. They got discourged by all the hype. Not much of an organization, but a good story to hype onthe internet.

Now just to set the record straight, I wasn't always this angelic. I was hyped and I thought that was how you did the business.  But EVERYONE I hyped into the business is no longer with me. The people who I felt bad for and tried to discourage by telling them it's goingto take a lot of work, are making a ton of money now.  They've built lasting organizations.  Hmmm...

I never steal someone's dreams. If they want to make $100,000 per month, I am their biggest cheerleader. I just help them get to $1000per month first. I help them stick it out long enough to develop the contacts, money and time to reach that incredible goal.

Whatever your goals are, I'll tell you right now, that they ARE possible. That's not hype. How long will it take you?  That's the question you have to answer. And that's the answer you'll have to make happen.

And when you do make it happen, it will be the most amazing life you could ever imagine. 

You'll think to yourself, "If I had known it would be this good...!" Mmmmm!!!!  I can't wait for you to get there!

You'll also realize that you didn't make it overnight. But that you probably couldn't have made the kind of money you are making as fastas you made it any other way than network marketing.  It's truly the greatest way for the average person to create wealth in our society.

And you'll want to tell people that story.  The true story.

Just like I want to tell you now.
