Multi-Level Marketing - A Recognised Marketing Option

It is important from the outset to differentiate Multi-Level Marketing from Pyramid Selling. Pyramid Selling is banned in most countries and rightly so. With Pyramid selling a product is bought by A for $1 and sold to B for $1.10; B then sells it to C for $1.20 and C to D for $1.25. And so it goes.

Multi-Level Marketing is the concept of teamwork selling the same product for the same price to people who in turn do the same thing. The customer pays the original price from the merchant or marketer. 

The team members gain by earning commission from the company on every sale and on the sales of the members they introduce into their team. Companies set their product price based on costs and profit margins. Included in the costs are the commission rates calculated for their distributors. In effect, their wages or salary had they been employed by the company as sales people..

Multi-Level Marketing is still frowned upon by many and was seen as the least attractive of all the marketing concepts. However Multi-Level Marketing is now being taught as part of the curriculum in many of the world's top business schools.

Multi-Level marketing is now 50 years old.  During the first forty years there were very few innovations. It was a very simple process consisting of selling products and sponsoring people to do the same. Multi-Level marketing is the most effective, powerful marketing system in the world. It is also the perfect vehicle for working from home.

It is reported that of the more than 3,500,000 millionaires in the United
States, more than 90% earned their wealth by starting their own business. Many of  these businesses were started from their homes based on the Multi-Level Marketing concept.

Numerous Fortune 500 companies were started by real every day people who started their business from basements, kitchen tabletops and garages, many of these people started out from scratch, low on cash, unemployed, or both.

Multi-Level Marketing is the second leading way MILLIONAIRES are created in the United States. Last year alone over 28,000 average people became MILLIONAIRES through Multi-Level Marketing.

So What is Multi-Level Marketing?

Multi-Level Marketing is a way of doing business, not a business itself.  It is a marketing method, and each marketer is an independentdistributor, not a company employee. Each individual has his or her own business!

Multi-Level marketing incorporates the principles of the first U.S. Billionaire J. Paul Getty.  He said: "I'd rather have 1% of the effortsof others than 100% of what I can do." The power in Multi-Level Marketing is in the duplication process. The geometric progression can be really astounding based on the multiplier effect. 

So why is it seen as such a 'dirty word'? If we were to be honest and logical about it and analyse this marketing concept we would see that Multi-Level Marketing is in fact another name for what most of us as marketers are doing anyway.

Comparisons With Other Marketing Techniques

Let's just try to de-mystify it all by looking at some of the industries and see how their methods are no different. Take insurance companies for instance. They operate on field operatives gaining new business. If that operative introduces a new salesperson he gains a commission on the introduction and his/her sales. The only difference is that he/she is actually employed by the company.

Affiliate programmes are all Multi-Level Marketing. As an affiliate commission is gained  on any sales made, if one of those sales turns into another affiliate then a further percentage is paid  from what they sell.

Any type of good bought in the retail market operates as a form of Multi-Level Marketing, the only difference being the limit on the number of levels. The farmer grows, sells to the producer, who in turn sells to the supplier, who then sells to the retailer and eventually the customer is the last person in the chain. Is this not a form of Pyramid Selling?

The principle of Multi-Level Marketing depends on the work of the team. One of the easiest ways to achieve goals is by helping others to
achieve their goals. The idea of teamwork is that each person benefits from the work of each member of their team.

internet is activity. Success will be based primarily on this level of activity. The more activity you have, the more prospects you
have, the more prospects you have, the larger your downline becomes, the larger your downline becomes, the more money you earn.

The internet has provided a new array of methods to developing teams for multi-level marketers. Not only is marketing on the Internet global, it is the most cost efficient method of marketing on EARTH.

In addition to being cost efficient the internet has leveled the playing 
field. Because it is possible to market products over the internet 
without ever meeting or speaking to a prospect. Strong people skills, 
charisma and salesmanship are less important and your level of activity is more important.

So now, all you Multi-Level Marketers - hold your heads high and enjoy the respectability this form of marketing is being given at last.
